WITH SYNAESTHESIA, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST
ÉMILE V. SCHLESSER AND JAZZ TRIO REIS-DEMUTH-WILTGEN
PRESENT A ONE-OF-A-KIND MUSIC EXPERIENCE.
A walk-in installation featuring holographic 360-degree video projection invites you to immerse yourself in a dreamlike world. Surrounded by music, translated into color, shape and movement, the artists perform a crossover between multiple art forms.
Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen’s specially conceived jazz compositions merge with the generative visual worlds of multimedia artist Schlesser. Audio and video influence each other in real time, forming a multi-sensory symbiosis.
Meanwhile, the performers remain largely hidden, pulling the strings behind the curtain, leaving the stage to the illusion.
WHAT IS ‘SYNAESTHESIA’ ?
The fusion between image and sound is inspired by the phenomenon of ‘synaesthesia’ – the neurological condition where individual senses blend in unusual ways and multiple sensory perceptions are inseparably intertwined: sounds become visible, images become audible, emotions materialize. Schlesser and Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen aim to make this sensation tangible for the audience.
